Local Cases: James Smith

A happily married man with a beautiful, loving wife and three beautiful children with a fourth on the way. A great career. A large home. Friends and family. Everything seemed perfect on the outside.

A young single mother working a waitressing job to fund her way through school. Not a native to Clovis, NM, she was deciding whether to make the move back home to San Diego but a divorce and child custody made that complicated until she was found dead. Did the husband do it? Did the canceled date that night do it? There were many red herrings but the elite major crimes unit put in the work and solved the case quick to get a potential serial killer off the streets.

Unfortunately, the video where I recorded his exact root from the restaurant where she worked to her home and then to his house has disappeared. What I can tell you from driving the route is that he had 16 minutes to change his mind and he didn’t.

Where Laura’s body was disposed of. You can see how desolate it is.

This is the former residence of James Smith. As you will see in the next video, the road she was found on was a straight shot from his former home.

As you can see, he could have taken the airport road or gone on down to C, which I’m not sure he would have as you will see in the next video. What do you think?

As you can see, CR C turn off is desolate looking like it’s not even a road. I’m just not sure he would have taken this road because it would have been more conspicuous than if he had taken the airport road.
